Auditor ran as if he outclassed the others, showed the most speed and, after racing Inspector Girl and Minnehaha into defeat, had enough left to stand off the determined challenge of Belleview. The latter closed a big gap from a poor beginning and finished with a rush. . Dudley saved much ground when coming jnto the stretch and finished going gamely. Inspector Girl tired fast after going a good three-quarters. Minnehaha was probably short and quit after going a good half. Larone ran poorly. Mr. Price had scant chance with a poor send-off. Platoon beat the barrier by a good margin, showed the most speed all the way and, although tiring near the end, finished gamely and held Garrett Wilson safe in the final drive. Garrett Wilson, also favored at the start, ran a good race and stayed well in the final drive. Lady Esther closed a big gap from a Blow beginning and finished going fast. Ethel Day ran forwardly, but was beaten after going a half. Funiculaire away badly, ran a winning race and would have been a sharp factor with racing luck. Frontenac tired badly after going a half. Hannibal Bey ran the best race of his career, was away in a forward position and clear of interference, followed Pretension closelv to the stretch, where he forged into a slight lead and, standing a drive resolutely, outlasted the favorite. The latter showed superior speed, but tired near the end and could not concede the winner so much weight. Mcllvain ran a good race and was right there all the way. Gold-mate closed up a fair amount of ground In the final drive and finished fast. Wexford put up a poor performance and can do much better. Zipango ran a good race and had to go wide most of the way, finished fast and would have been second In a few more strides. Electorine tired after suffering from interference. Redgauntlet closed a big gap from a poor beginning and finished with a rush. La Veita was poorly handled and ran a good race. Miss Martha tired badly after going a half. Oratorian got Into a contending position from the start, which he maintained throughout.. High Bearhad no mishaps and ran fairly well only. Savoir Falre bad a rough trip and was hampered considerably throughout. Lazell, after meeting with early -.interference, ran poorly and seemingly would not extend himself fully.
