Seweli, from a lucky start, raced into tha lead and made the running to the end, never seriously challenged until too late. Grapple, from a striding start, was shuffled or taken back nnnecessarily far and closing up with a belated end rush, might nave won but for a badly judged ride. Pcnrhyn ran In closest pursuit of the pacemaker for six furlongs and stood off the others gamely for third place in a cracking good race. Cairngorm ran well up throughout and was going fast at the end and probably was short. Dolly Spanker, sore and nearly left, closed a big gap. Suffice went well and is very good, but belongs in cheaper company. Fortunate, a very good looker and neairiy left, closed a big gap and is worth watching. Gold Lady was shuffled back repeatedly. The latter trailed until In the last elrcnlt, where he closed up rapidly and just failed to get up at the end of a grand effort. Jimmy Lane ran a bad race, was never able to get up Into serious contention and gained a lucky third. Woolgatherer kept well up. for two miles and then retired.. Yama Christy was hopelessly outpaced from start to finish and ran a bad race. Altiida shows steady improvement, got away well and had clean sailing all the -way and just lasted to earn third place. Dinna Ken ran prominently, but swerved badly in the last furlong and just failed to get up. for third place. Okenite was pocketed securely in the last furlong, or he might have been third. Adoration was knocked back and off her stride when Dlnna Ken swerved at the beginning of the last quarter. Eddie Ware got away poorly and was repeatedly crossed by swerving leaders, but closed a big gap and ran good race. Kentucky Beau got away poorly and was never dangerous, The same applies" to Fouhtaihbliie, both running remarkably bad races. Miss Crawford, skillfully nursed and saved for a final effort, got into a fast going third at the end. Nealon ran in forward contention for a mile and a half, then tired In the closing drlye, hui. ran a good race. Sailor Boy made the running for a mile and a half before he retired and also ran a fine race. Red Friar fell back when the accelerated pace came In the last six furlongs. Cederstrome was always in forward contention and sustained his speed unexpectedly well. Guiding Star quit badly after six furlongs of an effort to head the pacemaker and ran a bad race. Bobble Kean was outpaced early and, after trailing for six furlongs, closed up well in the last quarter. The Clown is Improving and likes soft going.
