Welbourne had a bad outside position, but closed a big early gap and was reserved patiently to the iinal Isxteehth. where he strode by the leaders and won going away. True Wing brotc slowly on the inside and moved up prematurely ami was used to excess on the turns, finished fast, but boring over to the inside, where she shut off John Lyle, after which she ran out the last hundred yards gamely. John Lyle outbroke the others on the inside and made the running to the stretch, where lie was challenged and nearly put over the fence by True Wing. Onatas, nearly left, closed an immense gap and linisbed like a cyclone. Robador also suffered at the start and closed a big gap, running a good race. Just So went well and Is improving. Anneta Lady unexpectedly failed to stay after showing early speed. Brush Up quit badly. Yada had scant chance at the start. The latter was reserved in close attendance on the winner and put up a game, but unavailing, stretch challenge, scoring a superior .performance. St. Kevin went well, but was poorly ridden and interfered with several times, jommodore Fontaine, in close quarters in the early running, blundered badly and, after boring out on the far turn, tired in the linal drive in a good race. Vendo-." went well and shows steady improvement. Dick Shaw ran forwardly for half the"journey. Realm has deteriorated and ran a bad race. Royal Onyx, from a good start, ran prominently for a half mile and then quit badly. Ben Trovato was going well at the end. Woolstartle was repeatedly sin.: off and closing up at the end. Hot Toddy made the running and, after setting a tremendous pace, succumbed to the. winner in a hard stretch struggle. Nealon ran in third position throughout and, although never able to Snenace the leaders, saved bis position easing up. Guiding Star was always out-liaced and beaten off at the end. Bivouac ran on the outside on the turns and was In forward contention throughout, running a game race. Cederstronie, badly messed about in the earlv running, finished fast. A.
