BALDWINS RACING PLANS. Los Angeles, Cal., November 2. "Lucky" "Baldwin will race extensively this winter and will have strings at both Oakland and Ascot.- It was not considered likely that he would be represented at Ascot again in view of the fact that his new tract Is looked upon as a dangerous rival by the Ascot people. Baldwin has seventy horses in training at his Santa Anita ranch and one string will be shipped to Oakland in charge of trainer Cook, Cruzados being among the number. The Ascot string will be the more formidable of the two and will be in charge of E. C. Blum a newcomer on the coast. Baldwin thinks highly of Blum and engaged him yesterday. The latter has been jockey, . veterinary surgeon and trainer successively and comes highly recommended. "Lucky" has gone to Arrowhead Springs to take treatment for rheumatism and. returns in -a week to direct affairs at his new track.
