NOVELTIES AT ARCADIA. . According to a letter from, ,.Los Angeles to the Cincinnati Enquirer the projected track at-Arcadia is to be decidedly an innovation; in respect to its surface and the grandstand will, be of unusual construction. Here -.is the statement of the ease: "Plans arc now Ming, ..drawn for a grandstand that will seat Ti-,000 peoplci A novelty in grandstand construction will be introduced at the new, track, as it is planned- to, construct the. stand of , re-enforced concrete and steel, the same ;materlal that is being used in many of the large buildings now in course of construction .in .Los .Angeles.. A new experiment in the way of track building will also be -fried at the Baldwin place. It is intended -to i -use- oil in the- eopUnifiiio.:ot.Jjei4raet .rroper, to do away with the- dust. It is claimed by the promoters of the oiled, track, that not only .will it eliminate dust from the track; but that. it will be easier on the horses feet than ;the ordinary race course. This experiment will be watched with a good deal of interest by the-.other racing associations oh tlie coast, and shbulu it .prove successful the plan will le adopted, as. oil is plentiful in California. The property has-been purveyed and grading will be .begun in the course of a few days."
