OWNERS AND HORSES AT NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La., November 3. Scenes of animation greet the eye everywhere at the City Park racetrack and at the Fair Grounds track. Sand is being spread on both tracks at the rate of about eighty yards a day. Both Superintendent William Meyers, of the Fair Grounds track, and Superintendent G. F. Wolgamuth, of the City Park track, predict that the racing season, which opens in New Orleans, November 24, and extends till early spring, or 120 days, will be the best ever seen in the south. All stalls have been engaged at both tracks, and horses, some of them well-known racers, are arriving daily. There are now more than 200 horses in the stables. Some of those now here with strings of horses are: Doc Hollenback, with nine; W. S. Williams, nine; I. L. Snow, three; T. Ryan, four; A. McMullen, live; James Robertson, eight; William Piper, three; Lettelier and PIcheloup, three; J. W. ONeall, five; William Newman, five; J. Egan, two; R. E. Wat-kins, two here now and sixteen coming; James Fleming, Ave, including several well-known jumpers; James Davis, six. J. U. Strode has a string now in the City Park stalls. W. B. Bancroft has ten horses at the City Park stables.
