Belcast, on the extreme outside and forced to run around on the outside on the sharp turn, challenged In the stretch, but could not quite get up and finished swerving. Flowaway closed an immense gap from a poor send-off and likes this track. Molesey, shut off early and pocketed to the final sixteenth, had ho chance and was only cantering at the ene. Yorkist, badly handled, lacked early speed to a marked degree and appeared dull and unfit. Animus ran forvvardly to the last turn, where he bolted to the outside. Sandalwood made the running for the majcr portion of the journey and was badly messed about, especially when taking the jumps and, getting into a wedge just on the turn into the stretch, lost a couple of lengths, then came on fast and just- failed to get up. Waterford, skillfully bandied and reserved, was always in forward contention, but tired right at the end. Russell Sage trailed a bad last throughout and ran a dull race.
