BREWER GERSTS MANY YEARLINGS. Lexington. Ky., November 3. Of the fifteen yearlings here in charge of George Ham, which are owned by the Nashville turfman, W. Gerst, the brown filly by Gallantry Enough, by Macduff, has worked- the most impressively. She picked up 125 rounds and ran a quarter in 23t seconds, traveling the first eighth in 11. She is a half sister to Karattm. Gerst has thirty-five other yearlings at Nashville and so has an even half hundred colts and fillies from which to select the two-year-old stars of his stable in 100T. Trainer J. W. May took to Memphis with him the two-year-old chestnut colt King Castle, which has been out of training since the meeting at Memphis last spring. He Is a son of Gold Heels and Sister fenny, and May expects him to be a good three-year-old In 1007. Brancas, the older star of William Gersts stable, has been gelded and his owner believes he will be a better horse than ever next season. Gerst is going to keep no regular stallion at his Tennessee breeding- plant. His select band of broodmares will annually be mated to the public stallions of note standing for service in Kentucky and Tenneandeee.
