Dolly Spanker ran a fast lialf and tired in the final drive. Lord of the Vale ran out at the head of the stretch. Twister was never a contender. Garterknot was in a good position when she fell in the first turn of the field. Pioneer fell at the first jump. Berkeley, after closing a gap early, was never far from the leaders, came away with a rush iu the stretch aid hud something left at the end. Regal Lad was siK-edy and a contender all the way, but tired right at the end. Soprano, after setting the pace, dropped back, then came again and would have been second in another Htride. Van Loan ran well, but was badly shut off at the head of the stretch. V.rittanby was knocked back right after the start. Work aud Ilay made up ground and was going well at the cud. lliggiu-Lotliaiii got off badly. Belle Strome opened a big gap at once and, showing great speed, led all the way, but at the head of the stretch she bore out and took New York with her. Hagan made a claim of foul, but it was not allowed. New York is in good form, ran consistently and finished gamely. Scarfell showed early speed and tired in the stretch drive. Leonard Joe Hayman showed scant speed, was never a contender and ran out at the head of lie stretcli. His race was much below his true form and should be thrown out. Watergrass stayed the route well and was as easily best of the others. Lord Boanerges hung on well after closely following the early pace. Oraculum quit all over. Agile was always outrun.
