Buren Arnold was well handled and away in a forward position, took a long lead at ouce and was never in serious danger, winning with plenty in reserve. Windfall was always in closest pursuit and put up a good performance, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Spider Web gamely stood a hard drive throughout and but for suffering from interference in the early stages would probably have been second. Quince acted badly while going to the post, but ran a good race and will improve. Mazie ONeill cann-fast near the end and is worth remembering. Little Scout was given a bad ride and taken much farther than the winner, tired slightly near the end and can beat this kind when fit and good Sanction came from a long way back and was going resolutely at the end. St. Valentine forced a fast pace in the early stages and, after disposing of Dr. Spruill in the first three quarters, had enough in reserve to stall off Jack Dolan. The latter ran a good race, finished gamely and Had no mishaps. Dr. Spruill showed the most early speed and tired after going three-quarters, but put up a good performance. King Ellsworth gained rapidly after going a half and will improve. Beecher was close up for the first half, then tired as if short. Old Stone was never prominent and can do better.
