Gigana. shut off at the start, worked through a rough journey into a fast coming fifth. Rio Vista finished well. Agrippina got away badly and can do better. Katie Gleason showed early speed. Royal Maxim, tlalfooted at the start and shuttled to the rear on the first turn, closed an immense gap and finished in : cyclonic- fashion. Flota was well up all the way and gamely earned third place. Seven Bells. shut off early, made up ground throughout. Avona made the running to the final sixteenth before she succumbed. Menden showed speed for six furlongs and is improving. Tetanus, away very poorly, closed up considerable ground. Fulalie B. was shuttled to the rear early. Hankwell showed early speed. McNear was s|mt c ff on the first turn but ran intu strenuous early pursuit of the- terrific- nee and finally swe-rveel badly iu the stretch. J. C. Clem, always well up and reserved for the tirst half, closed up like a e-yc-lone in the last e|uarter and ran a cracking good race. Rubric was shuttled to the rear at the start and was never dangerous afterwards. Nappa. well up in the early running, was shuttled back on the turn but came again and gamely earned third place. Woolma. crowded back early, closed a considerable gap in the last half. Native Son. away poorly, was repeatedly puiled up. took the extreme outside all the way and his rider was sitting still in the stretch. Edwin T. Fryer, crowded to the rear at the start, closed a big gap in the last half. Zelina showed superior early speed. Palemon got away poorly. Otto Price was op|K sed to too great early speed. Miss Officious quickly improved her position from a poor start and after e lose aiteudaiie-e on the winner challenged gamely at the end but could not get up. Cabin, knocked to his knees at the start, e-losed a big gap into a close and fast coming third and was much the liest todav. The Missourian was crowded bae-k on the tirst turn and gained steadily in the last half and is extra good. Edith James began slowly, had no mishaps and closed up well in the stretch but wants a longer race. Jolly Witch e-losed a big gap in the last six furlongs and Is worth rememtiering. So did Mamie Algol, which -eeu/s out of place in short races. Eckersall showed speed but failed to stay. Fisher Boy seemed unable to raise a respectable gallop. Scratched — 08375 Yada. 109.
