JEROME ADMITS DEFEAT. Albany. N. . April 30.— District Attorney Jerome sees little hope for the bill designed to put an end lit lKtting at acelrticks, introduced early in the session at his request. "It looks as if the racetrack bill would not be passed this session," Mr. Jerome said last night. "I shall consult some of the members about it. however. Perhaps it is gentlemens snort, but when stewards of tracks go to the poolrooms to place their bets, it looks like another kind of sport."
