A well balanced card produced stirring eanteeta at Bine Bonn.:-- this afternoon. Clone finishes were in order and in I Majority of the races the winners arere la doubt until in the last few strides. In the lir-t and f lb laces it was impossible to tell which had a un til the official placing had been displayed. II would ii"t have been surprising to many of those ill the grandstand had a Bead beat bees declared in each of these races. There was another larg e crowd present. Favorites and outsiders divided honors toll after noon, the successful ehetrca being Preen. Paprika and Oroba. Preens victory marked the first winner that trainer All»ert Weston has sent to the post durfng the meeting. He had started in tee races and. although every one of his horses had finished inside the money, none had won. Im i- recent racing through the innd has evidently dulled his speed, for it took all there was in liiin to beat Pantoufle out a head in 1:14, When at his heel this excellent sprinter is capable of running much faster. In the fourth race Cursus wou from Water* Dog by a matter of inches. Water Dog was favorite in this race and well backed. As usual, he krehe i slowly and was outrun for the first three furlongs. On the far turn he moved up and when entering l,e I icstietch it seemed he would win. He appeared to have the others beaten at the sixteenth peat, but Cursus. which had trailed along in the rear until straightened out for the final drive, finished with a great burst of speed at the end and manage,! to get up in the very last stride. St. Noel, which had set all the early pace was third, a length and A half aV-iy. Monkey Puzzle was scratched out of the fourth race and starred in the last one and heavily backed by his owner and others. The colt proved a big disappointment. He broke slowly and was outrun until well into the homestretch, where he CaBM foal and passed all but Dog Rose, which won easily by a length and a half. The Seagram colt Main Chance, was sent a mile and a quarter after the racea yesterday in 2:1:.. This was his final "prep" for the Buffalo Derby to lie run Saturday next, and he was shipped to Keuil worth this morning. T. K.
