CLAY WANTS TO BUY THE DINNER. New York, June 12. — Flower Queen, the filly that liore the colors of Woodford Clay in the last race at Gravesend Monday, is one of his nominations for the Astoria Stakes, to be run Monday next. She is a chestnut daughter of Nasturtium and Grievance, and has been showing exceedingly well in the exercises. The race was a part of her preparation and wheu she has had more education she should be a good one. Last fall Kentucky Beau won the Waldorf Stakes in the colors of Mr. Clay, and he Is particularly ambitious to annex the diuuer stake of the Brooklyn Jo.-key Club this spring. His other nomination for the Astoria is Winning Star, a chestnut daughter of Star Shoot and Winsome III., though it is probable that Flower Queen will be the one to carry the silks.
