Ronnie Kate, off forwardly, rushed to the front before they had gone a sixteenth and set a fast pace, drew away on the far turn and was needlessly ridden out. Belliiience broke slowly and was outrun for .the first quarter, slipped through tm the inside tin tlie far turn and made a good effort on the stretch turn, but finally tired under punishment. Cyclops ran well up in the early stages and tired in the last quarter. Theodocia ran away a mile the wrong way tif the track lie fore the start and three furlongs afterwards to a false break. Cuscowilla had a rough trip, was sharply cut olT at the half-mile post and crowded back, then closed a big gap ami finished witli a rush. Lonite went around the others with a yrcat burst of speed on the turn out of the backstretch, but tired under a drive in tlie stretch run. Wexford made a game effort on the far turn, but his weight told on him and he was tiring at the finish. Old Honesty set a fast pace, lint tired after going seven furlongs. Entratla brokt slowly and ran on the outside all the way, covered more ground than any horse in the race and was going fast at the end. Melting, a rapid breaker, showed superior speed, but tired from setting the early pace, lierrymnn was cut off at the start and dropiK-d back, then closed a big gap in the last quarter. Moliero was sharply cut off. at the half-mile post and again on the turn out of the backstretch and ran a good race. Peter Cain showed a flash of early speed, but quit after going a half mile. Peter Knight met with much interference on the backstretch, where he was shuffled back, but finished fast and gamely under punishment. Tyrolian and Webber were much used in forcing and setting the early pace and tired in the stretch. Edwin II. was caught in a jam at tlie start and was as good as left.
