Jack Atkin got into nearest pursuit of the winner after going the first quarter, stayed there to the end and was a game second. Sewell broke slowly on the inside and was shutlled back early, lint closed up steadily in the last half and earned third place with a belated rush. Roekstoue ran prominently throughout, held on extra well in the closing drive and is very promising. Botanist was unable to raise a respectable gallop. Dick Shaw made the running very easily for a mile and a half, then tpiit badly and probably" was short. Judge OGin was frequently pulled up from crowding in the early running and came from a long way back In the last half. Old Faithful went well for a mile, but fenced poorly and will Improve. Long Ball quickly drew out and made the running, was skillfully nursed in the middle running and just lasted the journey under a vigorous finish. Rara Avis had no mishaps, got into forward content ion early and pursued the winner closely throughout and finished wearing liim down. Sniirker broke slowly anil steadily improved his position, Hashed through and saved ground on the inside on the stretch turn, but-failed to get up in a good race. King Folly ran prominently, but tired in the closing drive. Martha Jane also tired after close pursuit of the pacemaker. Thomas Calhoun, shutlled to the rear at the start, dosed a big gap on Ills own courage. Alauda was never dangerous. Milford got away poorly and was gaining in the stretch. Gold Lady, possibly reserved in the rear too long, closed up rapidly in the last three furlongs, but failed to get up in a cyclonic stretch challenge. Yankee Girl began slowly and was sent after the pacemaker on the backstretch, appeared good for a brief period, but quit badly when the final call came and ran a bad race. Telescope, always prominent, got up in a fast final rush. Ocean Spray, shutlled to the rear on the far turn, closed a big gap In the last quarter. Workmaid got away poorly and did not materially improve her position, running u bad race that should be thrown out. Killiecrankie was well up for seven furlongs, but tired finally. Fort Johnson, badly messed about and easily best, was pocketed and in close quarters to the stretch, then finished with a belated rush and is a grand horse. Big Chief broke and ran green, closed a big gap from a bad start and was an easy fourth, is a supposed good one and looks It. Bellwether set a stiff pace for three furlongs and then quit badly. Altar Boy was going well at the end and is promising. Wise Child, a superior looker, showed earlv speed, finished eased up and ran as If short. Fascinator, nearly left, closed a big gap.
