Hollow, away poorly, moved into the lead rapidly and made the running fast, but Anally tired under punishment. Scallop began slowly and trailed with the rear division to the" stretch, then finished with a much delayed rush. Miss Mazzoni ran well. Emma G. and Corncob showed early speed. From u good start Hawkama followed the pacemakers close up and, challenging with a rush in the last si.steenth, won drawing out. Woolstone was reserved in behind Taunt in the early running and, taking the lead on the far turn, appeared the winner in the stretch, but linally lost because bis rider was overconfident and unprepared for the winners rush. Minos ran well and was a close up third, but can do-better. Taunt showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch. Elfall closed a big gap. Lexoline was off poorly and ran wide. The winner was entered for .,000; no bid. Granada was always prominent in tlie running and outstayed Cobniosa for third place. The latter ran well to the stretch and tired as if short. The others were always outpaced and Braden broke down. Quadrille ran well and finished close up. Colloquy showed superior early :peed, but was .overweighted and tired. Haensel was practically knocked out of any chance at the start. First Mason ran Into the lead In the first mile and led easily to tHie stretch, but sulked when challenged and is very unreliable. Sam KIce did his best. Liptou showed speed.
