SHEEPSHEAD BAY STAKES. In the course of the week beginning tomorrow thirteen stakes will be run off at Sheepshead Bay, including some of the star events of the American turf. Tomorrow the Sapphire Stakes and Ocean Handicap will be run, the names of the probable contestants appearing In this issue. Tuesday afternoon the Autumn Stakes for two-year-olds will be the feature, witli Restigouche, Celt, Half Sovereign, Nimbus. Johnnie Blake, Live Wire, Jim Gaffney, Ilalket, Notasulga, Uncle, Spooner, John Marrs, Park View and Falcada prominent among the entries. The Belles Stakes for two-year-old fillies, AValdorf Stakes for two-year-old colts and geldkgs, and September Stakes for three-year-olds will be deeided Wednesday. Half Sovereign, Fond Heart, Black Mary, Bouquet, Notasulga, Miss Norfolk, Lady Winifred, Red Bonnet, Masquerade, Chu-lita, Explosion, Gowan, Desirous, Park View and Fancy are in the Belles. Of the Waldorf candidates Nimbus, Smoker, Spooner, Ben Fleet, Cohort, John Marrs, Ileknows and Beaucoup appear best. The September is always productive of a good race, and with Montgomery, Superman, Mc-Carter, Gold Lady, AV. II. Daniel, Kentucky Beau, Tony Faust, Philander, Tourenne, Jack Atkin, Foun-tainblue, Toniaceo, Ellicott, -Dinna Ken, Paiinionok and Monfort among its eligibles, there is no reason why It should not furnish one this year. The Flight Stakes for two-year-olds and over, and the Russet Handicap for three-year-olds and over, will be disposed of Thursday. The Flight has Okenlte, W. II. Daniel, Suffrage, Court Dress, Oxford, Tourenne, McCarter, Jack Atkin, Far West, Keator, Sewell, Cuapultepec, Dreamer, Uncle, Keep Moving, Roseben, D.e Mund, Dr. Gardner, Baby Wolf, Brookdale Nymph and other fast ones engaged, and Nealon, Montgomery, Beacon Light, Running Water, Confederate, Oxford, McCarter, Bedouin, Good Luck, Carthage, Lancastrian, Voladay, Temaeeo and Philander are in the Russet. The Golden Rod Stakes for two-year-olds, and the Omnium Handicap will be run Friday. The Golden Rod has Half Sovereign, Johnnie Blake, Lawrence Ft. Daley, Notasulga, Gene Russell, Spooner, Wood-lane, Home Again, Park View, Creation and Sanguine among its eligibles. The Omnium has the same entries as the Ocean Handicap. The meeting will come to a close Saturday with the running of the Westbury Steeplechase, Great Eastern Handicap for two-year-olds, and the 5,000 Annual Champion Stakes. The Westbury has all the good jumpers of the day eugaged. Colin, Celt, Julia Powel, Fair Play, Johnnie Blake, Nimbus, Jim Gaffney, Bouquet, Notasulga, Uncle, Meelick, Spooner, Gowan, Ben Fleet, John Marrs, Desirous, Bar None, Firestone and Beaucoup are Great Eastern eligibles. The Annual Champion appears Ballots now. His opposition will come from Montgomery, Salvldre, Fountainblue and McCarter.. .
