CARMAN STABLE FOR CALIFORNIA. Band of Shifty Selling Platers Having Much Success This Year. K. F. Carman, for whom J. Blute trains, and who recently paid 1907.sh,000 to Bill Daly for tbe contract on Tommy Burns kid brother, G. Burns, is planning a winter campaign in California. Carman is a New Yorker, has means, bets heavily and Is a good winner this season. His trainer, Blute, is a skillful man, also with such a stable, made up of such shifty selling platqrs as Arirao, Acrobat, Mark Antony II., Fleming, Rifleman, Martha Jane and others. The stable owned and profited by Running Account before he was claimed by the Patch-oguo Stable. Mark Antony II. is a handy horse, which has won six races, some ,000 In purses, and 0,000 in bets for Carman this year. He was brougut from England by ex-jockey George Thompson, who claimed him out of a selling race there for 1907.sh00. At Toronto, W. J. Young claimed the horse out of a selling race and sold him to Carman. Mark Antony II.s forte is soft going. He was no wonder In England, as has been stated. He raced thtrty-twn times there, eighteen times as a two-year-old, and fourteen times as a three-year-old, mostly in sell-lug races, and won but three of them.
