MONTREAL CLOSES WITH GLORY. Montreal, Que., September 14. Tbe fall meeting of the .Montreal Jockey Club closed today The weather was tine. A crowd close to 10,000 turned out. Society was very much in evidence and even standing room was at a premium on the balconies and clubhouse lawns. There were seven events on the program, and Jive of them were won by favorites. In tbe three-mile steeplechase Owa-issa and King Bolt raced like a team for two and ? l,alfmnf?- At tlle "ileteenth jump King Bolt took off a bit too far and in making a bad landin" unseated his rider, Mr. Burnett, who pluckily clung to bis horse. He remounted and finished the course and got second money. In the mile and a half hunters flat race. Brick Top won by half a length after a gallant struggle with the favorite Kumshaw. The pair fought" it out all the last quarter and the finish aroused great enthusiasm. The Ocean Gateway Stakes fell to Platoon, which made a runaway race. Blue Coat, which is owned by the Quebec turfman, A. Boswcll. showed a great stretch run in this race and at the finish be was steadily gaining on Platoon. Had Murray made his move a bit sooner with Blue Coat, the latter would undoubtedly have won.
