Stanley Pay left, the barrier with a rush ami set a fast pace all the Avay, went wide on the far turn, but came fast in the homestretch and won with something to spare. Cooney K., off poorly and meeting with some interference, finally got through and came with a rush on the outside and linislied gamely. Merry England, off well, saved ground all tin; way and, coming through on the inside rail, linislied resolutely, but was not good enough. Sally Preston ran well and finished close up. Clell Turney was rated iu behind the leaders under restraint for the first three furlongs, then moved up on the turn into the homestretch, caught Giles tiring and won drawing clear. Sir Culahad, off well, raced well up and came witli a great burst of speed in the last sixteenth, but could not catch the winner. Giles set tlie pace fast for the first half mile, but tired at lie end under punishment. Don Ottario ran well. Petulant and Uncle Toby were outrun throughout and both can do better. Restoration, always well up, finished gamely under punishment and beat out First Mason iu the last few strides. The latter set the pace fast to the stretch and tired iu the tiual drive. King of the alley ran moderately well only and can do much better. Henry O. trailed far back to the stretch and finished fast when too late. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Lycurgus hud a good hold of him until rounding the far turn, where he caught the fast tiring Marster and opened up a good lead. He closed stoutly. Glimmer got Into a jam Avhen rounding the first : t m ji and lost a couple of lengths. He came strong and closed when rounding the far turn, but could luvei catch the winner. Charlie Uilbert kept his stable mate close company all the Avay and was catching the latter at the end. Mainchance trailed his field the lirst mile and was running strong at the end. Store Lane, a good fencer, laid olf the pace Hie first time around and, after challenging and parsing Jimmy .Tames, opened up a gap and he weakened when taking the last jump and had to be hard ridden at the end to stall off Da era. The latter got a nice ride, lie lay back until taking the second from the last jump and, under punishment, was wearing the winner down at the finish. John OGrady got third money on sufferance. Mulcahy took hold- of Kelpie until rounding the first turn, where lie went to the front and opeiled up and held a winning lead. He was well iii hand all the way. Prince of Orange, always well up and a keen contender all the way, got into close quarters when coming out of the backstretcii and bumped Court Martial at the sixteenth post, for which he was disqualified. Oberon showed speed all the way and came on the outside with a rush at the end. Court Martial, after the interference, had no chance. The winner was entered for 1907.sh00; no bid.
