THIS WEEKS GRAVESEND STAKES. Notable Collection of Turf Events To Be Decided at Brooklyn. The splendid Sheepshead Bay meeting came to a close yesterday and racing will begin tomorrow nt -the neighboring Gravescnd track. The Flatlands Stakes for two-year-olds at five and a half furlongs, and the Oriental Handicap for two-year-olds and over at a mile and a quarter, will be disposed of In the course of the days sport, the names of the probable starters appearing in this issue of Daily Racing Form. The Bayshore Stakes will be run Tuesday. It is for three-year-olds and over :it about six furlongs under selling conditions, and will probably bring to the post a selection from such fast ones as Tom McGrath, Preen, Keator, Security, Ben Ban, Jacobite, Tony Bonero, Hand-zarra. Aeronaut, Edna Jackson, Lady Anne. Sir Toddington, J. C. Core, Lotus, Rye, Druid, Carthage. Saracincsca, Ingham and Frank Lord. x The Willow Handicap for two-year-old fillies will be decided Wednesday. Notasulga, Julia Powcl, Lady Winifred, Meggs Hill, Red Bonnet, Please, Black Mary, Gowan. Marbles, Desirous, Park View, Mombassa, Black Mary Aimce C, Half Sovereign, Fond Heart, Beckon, Ella ONeill and other speedy ones are in this event. Thursday will bring about the running of the Brookwood Steeplechase and Oeonnvicw Handicap. The Brookwood is over the short course of about two miles, and Caller, Sheriff AVilliams, Jiirfmy Lane. Garrett, St. Volma. Gus Straus, Grandpa, McKittrcdge, Buckman, Tagan Bey and Goldlleur are among the good jumpers nominated. The Oceanview is at a mile and a sixteenth for three-year-olds, and numbers such good performers as Veil. Superman, Frank Gill, Montgomery, Charles Edward, McCarter, Baby Wolf, AVcstbury, Kentucky Beau, Fountainblue, W. II. Daniel Prince Hampton, . Tourenue, Tony Faust, Oraculum, Yaukee Girl and Conville among its entries. The long-established Speculation Stakes will be the feature of Fridays racing. It is at a mile sind a sixteenth, and with Sister Frances, Zethus, Don Enrique, Voladay, Acrobat, Hyperion IL, Fancy Bird, Tom Dolan, Dreamer, Temaceo, Grapple, Rapid Water. Tony Bonero, J. C. Core. Smiling Tom, Lord Lovat. Sir Toddington, Rye, Good Luck, Am-pedo, Druid and Carthage prominent in its entry list, should furnish a good race indeed. Saturday will be one of the banner days of the meeting, with the Hitchcock Steeplechase, Junior Champion Stakes for two-year-olds, and the First Special for three-year-olds and over as stake attractions. The Hitchcock has about all the good jumpers of the time eDgagcd. The mighty Colin will probably appear in the ricli Junior Champion, in which lie will have to carry 127 pounds. Uncle, Johnnie Blake, Jim GaiTney, Bar None. Notasulga, Firestone, Stamina, Ben Fleet, Celt, Cohort, King James, Julia Powel, Lady Winifred and Nimbus arc other cracks in this race, but if Colin goes to the lost there will not be much doubt as to the result, In the mile and a quarter First Special are such stars as Ballot, Superman. Salvidcre, Charles Edward, Nealon, Running AVater, Frank Gill, Elee-tionecr, Dr. Gardner, Far West. Tokalon, Montgomery, Tony Faust, McCarter and Perverse. It is at weight for age, and a grand race is impeding.
