Banyah ran well, but was unable to get to the winner at any part of the trip and had to be ridden out in the last sixteenth to stall off Ketchemlke. The latter came fast on the. turn into the homestretch, but tired, under punishment at the end. Botanist and Posing were outrun all the way. Truro, after lelng outrun for the first three furlongs, came through oh the inside on the far turn and saved ground when entering the homestretch, then finished gamely under punishment and outgamed Mau-t heimer in the final drive. Manheimer had to bump his way through in the first furlong to get to the leader, drew out in the stretch, but quit when the winner caught him. Montclalr ran well in spots and finished with a great burst of speed through the last furlong. Margot was speedy, but was cut off at the eighth post by Manheimer, which swerved across to the inside. Hayman, suddenly improved and a good fencer, made an exhibition of his opponents, dashed into a long lead in the first time around and was well in hand all of the last furlong. Ballycastle wore Bob Murphy down in running on the flat and outstayed him under the whip. Bob Murphy was" hard ridden in an effort to get to the winner and tired in the last quarter. John G. Cavanagh was a contender when he came to grief at the sixth jump. Blue Grass Girl refused at the eleventh jump and Ralph Reese bolted out of the course at the second jump. Charlie Gilbert was hard ridden in the run to the first turn, where he caught Colonel Jack, can-led the bitter along at a fast pace all the way and proved the gamest under punishment. Colonel Jack ran next to the rail all the way and saved ground on every turn, was under a drive through the last furlong but .could never get up. Willis Green was outrun for the first half, but finished with a great stretch run and just managed to get up in time to beat out Solon Shingle for third place. The latter ran well and finished gamely, but was tiring in the final drive. Royal Legend, on the outside for the entire trio, closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Marquis de Carabas tired after showing speed for a half mile. Hancock ran well.
