YEAGERS WINNINGS EXAGGERATED. The published stories alnnit Joe Yeager having won 00.0CO or so down cast this fall is all rot. A well-known Chicago operator, just from the cast, has been Joe Yeagers partner in betting sinco Saratoga. He said yesterday that Yeager was probably 5,000 or 0,000 ahead of the game, and not likely to lose it back. So much for the yellow journal letting stories, which does racing a lot of harm. Yeager is going to California, when Oakland opens. He lias never been broke. His betting operations for the last year or so have been reduced, but have always been cash transactions, and he retains his interest at Hot Springs and West Baden. Yeager has a remarkable gift for the details of racing, aud it is this study of detail that makes him so successful with long shots.
