Won easily: second and third driving, heside, well meant, was taken the short route and found an opening on the inside on the backstretch to go through, passed Toddles without great effort at the half-mile post and. drawing into loiig lead, won crntering. Toddles showed early speed, but was given a bad looking ride and the race Miould be thrown out. Perfect or broke slowly and was outrun in the early stages, then closed a big gap and finished fast. Our Boy. off forwardly, was waited with until straightened out for the stretch run. then came fast in the last furlong and was going away at the end. Shirley R., a game contender all the way, was much used in racing Thurbet into defeat and tired under a drive at the end. Thurbet appeared big when going to the pour, but showed speed before tiring as if short. Listerine finished galuely under punishment after being sharply cut off 011 the stretch turn. Charlie Eastman was taken back and waited with until making the turn into the homestretch, then came on with a rush through the last furlong and won well in hand. Cooney Id was curried very-wide when rounding the far turn and when entering the homestretch by Platoon, but closed up fast again at the ovd. Goes Fast ran well, but tired under punishment in the stretch run. Platoon showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. The others were outrun all the way. Harmakis ran well, but was iriuler punishment all of the last furlong to stall off Rebonnders challenge. The latter was outrun in the early stages, but finished fast. Royal Legend, easily best of the others, was on the inside all the way and saved ground on every turn. Ecwatlna ran well and shook off Scarecrow iu the stretch run. Western outbroke the others and dashed to the front in the first few strides, opened a winning lead on the backstretch and was well in hand all of the last half mire. Excitement wore AVebber down on the far turn and had enough left at the end to stall off Poteuts rush. The latter came fast on the turn into the homestretch, but swerved across to the inside at the eighth post. AAebber showed speed, but quit badly. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to 1907.sh00 and bought In. Scratched 71335 Fiat, 100; 71335 Birmingham, 100.
