SAM EMERYS DAY OF LUCK. c E WINS BOTH STAKE RACES AT JAMAICA "WITH HIS YOUNGSTERS. li o of o of Arasee Wins the Lynbrook and Master Rob- j c ert the Southold Lane Allen Defeats C . Right Royal Easily. r o . s o of New York, October 20. A splendid card, supple- r men ted by gorgeous weather, brought easily the tl biggest crowd of the present meeting to Jamaica ., tills afternoon. The counter attraction at the v United Hunts Clubs new course did not apprcci- v ably .affect the attendance. The program included two valuable stake fixtures, the Lynbrook and South- old Handicaps for two-year-olds and all-aged horses, respectively, at the varying distances of six furlongs j anil a mile and a sixteenth. Andy Blako.ley won a them Iwth for Ham Kmery with his splendid pair of f of two-year-olds, Arasee and Master Itobert. Their victories were clean-cut and decisive, the i odds lucrative against both, and a fortune was t taken out of the ring on this unique double sue- cess. Master itobert was picked out at the salts j last year ami bought for 500. This is the Southold s victors last appearance in the east this season, and unless lie Is sold in the meantime, will le , shipped to California and raced at Oakland the coming winder. .Momentum so evidently outclassed his opposition j for the first race of the day that he was always j an fMMs on favorite and, taking up the running early, drew away in the stretch into a long lead and won cantering. In a lively struggle for second money. Golden Shore finally outstayed the long shot, L!Aniour. Constantia had considerable backing, but failed to justify it. 1 Green Seal is a proved fast colt, but was over- 1 looked in behalf of Merry England and Kilter. 1 Lho mistake was apparent when Green Seal forged into the lead directly after the start and won all j the, way by a safe margin. Merry Kngland ran to Ids hest recent form and was a resolute and i fast going second, a clear length in front of 1 "Father J5H1" Dalys recent acquisition, Killle- j crnukle. Kilter and Yada ran good races. 1 The Lynbrook Handicap, at three-quarters, for two-year-olds, went to the lightly weighted Arasee J at the end of a good display of speed in which 1 he won nil .the way, closely pursued by the second choice. Lady Winifred. Halkot was the favorite. but does not- run tip to his early summer fonii J and yrtn not dangerous at any stage. Fancy fin- ished fast and, outstaying Kialto for third place, might have won but for being unlucky iu the early 1 running. The tabled history of the Lynbrook Handicap is as 1 follows: Year. Winner. Wt. Jockey. Val. Time. 1!MH Gleneeho a 10G T. Hums ..,050 1:13 1 11105 Zienap .... ..100 Sewell . 1,770 1:145 i 100S Frank Gill 102 Nottor 1,710 1:13 1 1.107 Arasee 99 Delahy 1,540 1:13? ! "ot to be outdone by his stable comrade. Master Itobert won the Southold Handicap at a mile and a , sixteenth for all ages and, in doing so, gave Sam Kmery the unusual experience ot! winning two stake, races in one day. Master Itobert was ex- -. ceedingly fast in the spring racing, but ran like a non-stayer in the summer. He has got over this bravely and is now a stayer and a capital two-year-old. He was not in the least favored, being knocked back and pulled up at the start, but inude up ground gradually on the outside and finally ; won from Gretna Green in the last two strides of . a. sensational stretgh rush. Gretna Green decidedly reversed the result of his last previous meeting with Faust. The latter set the pace to the stretch, but Gretna Green had him well beaten at the finish. Rrookdale Nymph, was knocked about and unlucky, but hardly ran to her true form at that. The tabled history of the Sontbold Handicap is as follows: Year. Winner. .A. Wt. Jockey. Val. Time. J!4 Israelite 3 02 Shilling ?1,G23 l:4Gj 1105 Cederstromc 102 TV. Miller.. 1,700 1:47 Ilk. Coy Maid 4 113 Garner l.COO 1:40 1107 Mast. Itobert. 2 OS G. Burns... 1,550 1:47 Lane Allen continued his succession of triumphs ;utd disposed of Uight Royal in easy fashion in rhe fifth race. The latter was the favorite and the loader to the stretch, where Lane. Allen went right lij- him and the best he conld do was to beat Tptmny Waddell out a head for second place. Fifteen maiden two-year-olds contested the last race of the day and at the end of a hot finish, Ida IV -was first by a head from Rolando, with Mirnmar a close-up but tiring third. Jt. F. Carman will start two carloads of racers tt Meir long Journey across the continent Monday. ;. Hums, the stables jockey, will not leave until tVedWfday. Mr. Carman himself will be at Oakland on the opening day and expects to have three or uiore starters ejigaged during the afternoon. Lady Winifred was so fresh and full of life after the finish of the two-year-old stake that fJ:e unseated her rider and cantered back to the sialos. McDaniel was compelled to walk across b field. This entailed a long delay before the all weighed in" signal could be given. Jo!fc?y Walter Miller won his first mount on c yry day of the present meeting excepting Friday, when he won" the second race, livery horse was a proumitied favorite excepting Suffrage, which was a heavily backed second choice. Tumc distinguished members of the Jockey Club, .Harry Payne Whitney, H. KT. Khapp and James "W. Wadswortb, saw todays racing. Jockey Finn was suspended for the remainder of the mcetiug by starter Cassidy. Jesre Lewisohn is yet very ill and confined to - lifc apartments at Sherrys.
