A large attendance, big. fields and splendid racing -marked the -opening the fall .meeting at- Plmlico today. A full card seven races, each of which was full of interest, held the crowd until sundown. Speculation was lively, and the thirty-four bookmakers had all they could attend to in .handling the money offered them. The . features of the program were the Baltimore Club Cup for gentlemen riders, the Ho.el. Kcrnan purse and the steeplechase. Society folks were out in full force, attracted by tbe cup race and the steeplechase, which always appeal to the people this section. Cloten seemed to stand, out in the gentlemen riders race, and from an. opening of 0 to . 5 was backed to 1 to 2. He won the race handily, coining away Jn the stretch after Notre Knip liad set a warm pace. Cloten was ridden by Mr. T. Wright, who is a great favorite here. . The Hotel Kernnn purse went to 11. .
