NOTES OF THE TURF. August Relmont reports the death of the promising yearling bay colt by Etbelbert Mavada. Two of the yearlings Ellison has at Memphis in charge of Louis Strube arc sisters to Salviderc and Yankee Consul. A number of prominent ball players, members of clubs In both leagues, are in daily attendance at Jamaica these days. John R. Walker, trainer for J. J. Walsh, is a: brother of "Silent" George Walker, who trains for Weinberg Bros, in Germany, A half-brother to Keator, which trainer John Lowe claims is the best in the ntldreth baud of-yearlings at Oakland, has been gelded. C. B. Brossman, who gained fame as the trainer of Imp and Bessie Bisland, was looking around for some of the old-timers at Latonia Friday. Mindanao, a St. Andrew gelding which has not raced for two years, bus been leased from Cush-man by Paddy Lynch1 and will again be raced by him at Oakland this winter. Jockey Willie Walsh will ride at New Orleans this vinter under the management of M. J. Harris. Walsh has not bad much experience as a jockey, but is a lad of confidence and courage, aiid Harris says lie will be one of the best lightweights in the business before the winter is over.
