FEMININE TRAINER AT OAKLAND. There are a number of women horse owners who race horses in their own names, but therei is only one woman trainer now engaged in conducting a stable of thoroughbreds and giving it daily attention and instructing the stable foreman and exercise boy as to the particular training of each horse. Mrs. Louisa Curtis for several years had a small string which she raced, the most prominent horse in it being the fast mare Eugenia Burch, but hired her trainer. Miss Emma Quick has a number of horses now in training nt Oakland and is giving it her personal attention every day. She is the daughter of "Dad" Quick, who was a well-known horseman several years ago.
