BIG STAKES INCREASED IN VALUE. New York, November 11. Progress for next year Is lhe word with jockey clubs of New York and material increase in stake values will be one line of . improvement that will interest and please owners, in behalf of the Coney Island Jockey Club it is fclvcit out that the Suburban of 1908 will be of the Kituranteed value of 5,000, a raise of 5,000 over this years value. The Brooklyn Jockey Club will follow suit and make the Brooklyn Handicap a 25,000 stake also. The Coney Island Jockey Club will materially increase .the value of a number of its other stakes also and it is quite probable this example will bo followed all along the line of local racing organizations. It Is reported that the II. B. Duryea horses bought in at the Faslg-Tipton sale last Saturday, together with Dreamer and Ben Ban, will be sent to New Orleans for a winter campaign, a new departure for Duryea.
