The Reprobate broke slowly, but ran close up, was crowded back In the closing furlong and jnst failed to get up. Joe Goss was a prominent contender all the way and a game third. Escamado steadily" improved his position from an indifferent start. Annie H., from a flatfooted start, gained steadily throughout and was a close up fifth. Manchester, off poorly, loomed up 011 the last turn, but tired finally. Oriflauib, shullled to the rear and outpaced early, closed a big gap at the end. Good Cheer, away slowly, showed superior early speed, but tired in the stretch and was palpably short. Tarp, never dangerous, but off moderately well, can do better. The Mist, from a striding start, was reserved close up and, well served by the exhaustive pacemakfng, came through on the inside in the stretch and got up in the last stride. Fireball, hemmed in next to the rail in the first quarter, drew out at the half and made the running to the last couple of strides, but succumbed finally after making a wide turn. Blondy ran forwardly and held on persistently throughout, was slicrt and is extra good. Cloudlight ran along with the pacemaker for five furlongs, then tired and wa5 still short. Ed Ball broke slowly and was reserved within striking distance to the stretch, where he made good with a rush and was much the best. Prince of Castile ran in early forward pursuit of Etapa and dronped back in the stretch, but came again with a rush and is promising. Etapa made the running for six" and a half furlongs before she gave way and is in extra good form. Miss Rillle. flatfooted and shullled to the rear, closed up gamely in the last half. Celeres ran prominently for seven furlongs and failed to stay. Corrigan disliked the hard track, was never extended and will do to watch in mud. Clamor dropped out early and ran a bad race. Acrobat broke slowly, but took a good forward position in the early running and got up in the last stride of a terrific stretch drive. Roalta outbroke and outpaced the others decisively for seven furlongs, hut succumbed finally in a game struggle and is a good colt. May L. X. was decisively outpaced almost throughout and also failed to stay. Treasure Seeker, nearly left, trailed far in the rear and closed a big gap in the last quarter, but was outclassed here. Judge Nelson followed the leaders closely for half the journey and tired. Overweights May L. X., 4 pounds.
