NOTES OF THE TURF. Tourenne has not recovered from the injury ho received in the running of the Oceanvicw Handicap as rapidly as expected and trainer Whyte has decided not to4 start him again this year.. Jockey S. Flynu, son of trainer John W. Flynn, rode his first winner when Melange won the third race at City Park Wednesday. Melange is owned by Myron E. McIIcnry, formerly a well known harness horseman. Few horsemen of the east are for Marrone. The irrepressible Joe has bid horses up after selling racps too indiscriminately to have made many friends. The hope is widespread that be may not be permitted to race again. The amateur and professional jockeys of Germany have laid a proposition before the Union Club for the establishment of an insurance fund, by taking a mark from eacli riding fee as a premium on a certain sum of insurance, payable in the event of death, or injury causing a permanent disability.
