Loudoun Light closed a big gap steadily, came with a rush through the stretch drive and got up to win in th" last two strides. Thfstledale was closing up fast next to the rail along with James Crawford when I mbrella swung over against them and caused both to pull up, Thistlcdale then coming on and finishing gamely. Umbrella was always prominent in the running, but was disqualified for fouling. Diebold closed a big gap and finished fast. George G.Hall showed early speed, but quit. James Crawford was in forward contention, with a chance to win, when knocked back by Umbrella. Scratched 717S5 Haymarket, 120. Bellwether dashed to the front at once and, opening a big lead, won all the way never fully extended. Apple Toddy was prominent from the start and a fast coming second. Laughing Eyes closed an early gap and, in a game finish, outstaved Orfauo for third place. The latter closed an immense gap and finished fast. Winning Star ran well under difficulties. De Burgo showed speed, but failed to stay. Ornamentation got off very badly. Scratched 71994 Beardall, 109; 70029 Shindy, 100. Overweights Orfano, 5 pounds; Merry Man, 1; Ornamentation, 1. Sandy Creeker fenced well and stood a long drive gamely. Monkey Puzzle-ran a good race and finished close up. Lizzie Flat tired. Alamansor was closing up at the finish and em do better. Dulclan showed plenty of speed, but faltered at the end. Dr. Hellsworth was speedy, but made a bad landing over the Liverpool while going the last turn of the field and quit. The winner was entered for S400; no bid. Ironsides was faTored by the Improved going and, while unable to cone with the winner, ran a good race and outstayed Right Royal for second place. The latter ran a good race for two miles, then tired, but held on resolutely. Banker stayed well and finished close up. lied Friar was never dangerous and ran disappointingly. Alauda ran a cracking good race and easily outstayed Live, Wire for second place. The latter showed superior early speed and set a fast pace, but failed to stay and tired badly in the stretch. Trash went well and finished gamely. Dixie Himmel showed speed, but failed to t-tay the route. The others were outpaced. Kllliecrankie was crowded back right after the start and, closing a big gap, finished with a rush. Lally aud Society Bud showed early speed, but tired in the stretclf.
