FUTURE GREATS ARRIVING IN KENTUCKY. Lexington. Ky., March 4. — Two foals, a colt and a filly, arrived at Major T. J. Carsons Dixiana Stud today. The MM by Ben Strome — Blue * Bells, by Kingfisher, is a full brother to Pasadena, while the filly is a full sister to Highball, winner of the last American Derby. There are now five colts and five fillies at Dixiana. The broodmares Miss Ellie and Hatasoo are expected to foal tonight or tomorrow. There are already five Meddlers, three of them colts, at Kingston Stud and the two expected are also by that sire. The four-year-old filly. Miss Lida. by Ogden — Minnie Salesbary, which until recently was owned in partnership by A. D. Steele, of this city, and J. B. Smith, of Louisville, has been shipiied to J. B. Respess at Louisville, Mr. Smith having purchased Steeles interest for ,500. There is a chance that before very long she will go into the barn of Thomas Hitchcock. Jr. John E. Madden has written Mr. Hitchcock concerning her. George Ott has entered the three-year-old filly. Lady Vie, by Griffon — Vie. for the Merchants Selling Stakes at Latonia. and has already begun to pray for rain on that day. She is an excellent mud-runner, but cannot raise a respectable gallop on a fast, track. At least she could not last year. She will be trained again this season by Walter Grater. Dan T. Morris is expecting six two-year olds belonging to Claude Thomas and two belonging to James Hukill to come up from Paris next week to be trained by him at the local track. For the first time in a half dozen years Johnny Miller, who attends to the shipping branch of Garrett Wilsons business, came in from New- York the first part of the week with an empty car.
