SEATTLE OFFERS BIG INDUCEMENTS. The Seattle meeting of the King County Fair Association will this year show a decided improvement over the splendid meeting held last year both in number and class of horses contesting and in the numlM-r of stake races offered and the daily distribution of money. It proposes this year to distribute among owners not less than ,200 each day of the seventy-four and on every Wednesday of each week a special race, varying from 00 to ,000 in added money, will be run at the Meadows track. The fourteen stakes offered by the association, entries to which will close April 1, are as follows: For Two-Year-Olds. Ladies Plate, ,500 guaranteed; 4 1-2 furlongs. Woodlands Handicap, ,500 guaranteed; 5-8 mile. For Three-Year-Olds. Seattle Derby, guaranteed; 1 1-4 miles. For Three-Year-Olds and Over. Celebration Handicap, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-16 miles. Tacoma Handicap, ,000 guaranteed; 1 mile. "1909" Exposition Handicap, ,000 guaranteed; 1 1-4 miles. Puget Sound Handicap. ,500 guaranteed; 2 " miles. • Labor Day Handicap, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-8 miles. Club Members Handicap, ,000 guaranteed; 1 1-K miles. Interurban Handicap, .000 guaranteed; 7 s mile. Meadows Selling Stakes, ,500 guaranteed; 1 mile. Alaska Handicap, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-8 miles. For All Ages. King County Sidling Stakes; ,500 guaranteed; 0 12 furlongs. Opening Handicap, ,500 guarantied; 3-4 mile. The Alaska-Yukon-Paciiic Handicap, to lie run at the Meadows track next year during the progress of tin- exposition, for which it is named, will have a guaranteed cash value of 0,000. The distance of the race will be one mile and a quarter. Conditions will shortly be announced aud entries probably close. January 1, 1900.
