NOTES OF THE TURF. G. W. Scott expects to leave Oakland in a few days for his home in Texas. He will take his four-year old li.ly Mary Candlemas, the only horse remaining in his stable at Oakland, with him. Hugh iv.cn. who was one of the English Jockey Club Starter, was killed ■ few weeks ago by a fall in the hunting felt. He had ln his younger days ridden many races on the flat and across country Without an accident.
