NOTES OF THE TURF. G. W. Scott expects to leave Oakland in a few days for his home in Texas. He will take his four-year old li.ly Mary Candlemas, the only horse remaining in his stable at Oakland, with him. Samuel Ros and William Cooper, owners of the horses which formerly raced in the name of the Columbia Stable. hae dropi cd the name and the horses ate racing at Washington in the name of Mr. Bttm. Hugh iv.cn. who was one of the English Jockey Club Starter, was killed ■ few weeks ago by a fall in the hunting felt. He had ln his younger days ridden many races on the flat and across country Without an accident.
