ENCOURAGING NEWS FROM CALIFORNIA Xew York August 18 Barney Schreiber today received the following satisfactory telegram from San Francisco FranciscoOn On August 11 we had our stale primary for dele ¬ gates to the state convention nominating congress ¬ men and for delegates to the local convention to nominate superior judges senators and assemblymen for the ensuing election The Call and Bulletin made the issue the graft prosecution and Rudolph Spreck els the father of the graft prosecution headed the LincolnRoosevelt league in opposition to the regular republican organization with the result that Mr Spreckels and his LIncolnUoosevelt league were Jg noinlniouslv beaten in almost every precinct and dis ¬ trict in the dtv and Indeed throughout the state Ioss MeXah beat the opposition democratic force under Theodore Pell by a tremendous majority so the socalled reform forces were completely wiped out in this state The result of the primaries have this especial interest for you It seems now that there is no possibility for at least two years of passing in this state an antirace track bill
