The finish was so close that the winner was in doubt until the official placing was displayed. Favorites won two of the races, the successful choices being AVaponoca and Expansionist. The forv nior was ridden by Guy Burns and be sihowed 11 good performance, leading his opponents by a big margin all the way. Burns rode another winner when ho landed Bed Mimic by a neck In front of Dispute in the fourth race. There is some talk here of an association being formed amoug the layers doing business in Canada patterned on the lines of the Metropolitan Turf Association. Several of the more prominent operators have had an informal conference regarding this move, but as yet nothing definite has been decided upon. It is common gossip that the invasion of many of ttio fluid layers from New York at Woodbine Park vhis fall was far from pleasing to some of the people high up in tho Ontario Jockey Club and it Is to eliminate this class that the suggestion was made to form an association among the layers. that his stable will be shipped here instead of to Santa Anita, as previously planned. Joe Rose Is due at New York today from Enrope. Lester Lee is here from his Missouri farm, but brought no yearlings, deciding to let them develop until spring. AVallhausers. OffUtts and J. J. "Walshs stables passed through Emeryville today enroute to Arcadia. AAalsh stopped off to see the half-brother to Lee Rose, but did not buy.
