Kokomo, after pulling up in the first sixteenth, closed a big gap on the extreme outside under a bad ride. St. Joe. from a slow start, ran forwardly for Jive furlongs and quit. Angleface, from a slow start, made up ground in the last half. Ocean Queen, not ready, showed brief early speed and retired. Deutschland broke slowly and met early Interference, but closed up steadily and swerved into defeat in a great stretch rush. Collector Jessup ran in nearest pursuit of the pacemaker and made a game finish. Booger Red ran in forward early contention, but was crowded out and forced to pull up and could never get up afterwards. Fantastic made up ground slowly and finished close up. Ackerley, from a slow start, steadily improved his position into a fast going third. J. R. Laughrey was well up all the way. Elevation loomed up on the far turn and tired in the closing drive.
