Burnell ran in nearest and persistent pursuit almost throughout, but tired under a weak finish. Francis Joseph, away very badly, closed a big gap. Von Tromp. away very badly, closed a big gap in a stretch rush. Boas made up ground, but finished boring out. Kokomo ran a bad race. The winner was entered for 00; no bd.
