OLD CLOTEN DIES IN CANADA. Toronto. Oat.. April lo. — The well-known performer. Cloten. owned by Sol Mints, of Hamilton, was destroyed Thursday. having broken a lea bv a tall. 11" was imported some years ago bv Mr. Seagram and wen many races for him and subsequently for Messrs. Kean and Crew. His racing record in England. Canada and the Inited States was as follows: Cloten. ch. g. 1900. by Hazelhatch— Cymbeline. Vear. Arc. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Dam Won. Cloten was brad and raced as a HI Wag for a season and a half bv Lionel Kobinson. of Encland. and then sold to .1. E. Seagram, for whom he raced in lii-- three and four year-old form in this country .Hid Canada. Clotens Fnglish racing was fair. He "on his first two races, the Rookery Stakes at San-ihwn. and St. Margaret Stakes at Kempton. for Mr. Kobinson and as a three year -old he took the Fai-Nfi.-ld Handicap at Hurst Park and was second in the Croxleth Plate at I.iveroool before his sale. Hazelhatch. Clotens sire, was a Hermit horse and rvnilielino. his dam. by Camhello. Cloten was not able to get to the races last year.
