TRANSFORM BEATEN BY BAD LUCK. San Antonio. Tex.. April 20. — Ideal track con lit ions increased the attendance and attractive races made rhe sport here today all that could he desired. The third race, a lash of seven furlongs, was a leading feature. Transform, Bill Eaton. John A.. Xolic. Marclitnonet and Meadow being the contenders. Transform went to the post a warm favorite, hut v as piaetically eliminated at the start, being interfered with and almost knocked down. The colt gamely took after his opponents but the handicap waa too much and he was lucky to finish third. Singh-ton lauded the rank outsider. Meadow, au easy winner, after racing John A. Into defeat. The last race of the day was contested bv fast horses. Hancock. Himalaya and Cheswardine receiving the bulk of the plav. Himalaya was returned the winner in a sharp last sixteenth drive. Singleton outriding Pickens in a rattling good finish. Jockey Singleton continues to ride in excellent form. Several races he has won have been due entirely to his superior jockey-ship. He divided the honors of the afternoon with Molesworth. both boys riding two winners each. P. A. Bradv was this morning appointed to act as presiding judge at the forthcoming Fort Worth meet ing.
