DUGAN WILL RIDE FOR BELMONT. New York. April 2M.— Jockey Eddie Dugan will ride for August Belmont during the coining Iinilico meeting. Mr. Belmont has secured first call on the services of the clever young lightweight, and as rather an extensive campaign is planned for the n eetiug of the Maryland Jockev Club he will be kept bear. Iingan was under contract to ride for H. P. Whit nev in England and joined the stable some time ago. but the English Jockey Club refused him a license ami he returned to this country. His contract with Mi. Belmont is only for the Pimlico meeting, where Mi. Whitnev will have no starters. Dugan has not signed any contract beyond his present one with Mr. Belmont, though it is known that he has received several offers. Though he has been out or the saddle ever since he left San Francisco tor England. Dugan is able to ride at 102 pounds and before Hie seavni at Bel in. hi t Park opens he will lie aide to ride a few pounds lighter. He has gone to Pimlico to report to John Whalen. who is training the Pimlico string for Mr. Belmont.
