TORONTO HORSES AT WORK. Toronto. Ont.. April 25.— The Woodbine cur-.-dries out rapidly this spring and was in fairly good condition yesterday after the rain. The Woodstock Stable Platen, Table Bay and Supper Dance, bad a good gallop of a mile. They are about the most ad van.e.l of the Plate candidates stabled here. Tom Smiths Out of Step worked a half mile in 5.i seconds with iockev J. Foley up. Trainer Shields had Mr. Davics Plater. Shore Lark out. This fellow is pretty unruly and does his work on a lead. Shields is negotiating for a con tract on little Charlie Phair. who can ride at less than seventy pounds and looks like making a useful bov in the saddle. Albert Ashbridge sent Chins Hare and Lawyer Millar for useful work. Mr. Madigans Siuico" jogged two miles. Jockey Phil Musgrave. who will wear Mr. Sea grams jacket, arrived yesterday from California. He will go to Lmisville to ride Ed Alveys Friend Harry iu the Kentucky Derby a week from next Mom |, iv. Mr. A. II. Eckfoid. of High River. Alberta, will race a few horses on the prairie circuit this season. Harry McDonald is taking the good marc Ayr Water out there for him and will train the horses. Mrs. Eckford was Miss Hemlrie of Hamilton and will naturally take as great interest in the sport as does Mr. Eckford. Nineteen horses of the stable of Mr. P. T. China arrived yesterday from California in charge ol trainer John McCoiiiiai k. Among them are John Carroll. Guy Fisher. Donald Ma. doiiald. Rilleman. Jim- Gaitens. Lady Irma. The Golden Butterfly.
