GOES ABROAD TO SEE HIS HORSES. New York. May 28. — Thomas Hitchcock. Jr.. who sailed Wednesday for France, will be absent only a few mouths. Mr. Hitchcock is racing a string of steeplechasers around Paris whii b includes old Hvlas. tbe four-vi ar-old. Stokes, winn-r of last seasons Harbor Hill Steeplechase, and Regal Royal. Hylas won a steeplechase at Brussels. Belgium, and Stokes has won twice. Mr. Hitchcock believes that Hylas is about to regain his old-time form, and if the Meddler gelding continues to improve he may bear the green and violet in the next English Grand National over the famous Aintree course at Liverpool.
