1 STANDING TO HIS GUNS. A. B. Sprcckels One Breeder Not Alarmed hy Legislation Hostile to Racing. New- York, May 28.— A. K. BaraekeJa* .TerheBino has been gelded since he las; appeared under COtpra and looks right good just now. It is improbable. however, that he will start in some time, perhaps not before the Sheepslicad Bay meeting. With the possible exception of Voorhees. Torbelllao is regarded as the handsomest horse that A. B. Sprcckels A.vr -hire stallion. Solitaire II. has yet sent to the races. Manager Berry of the Sprcckels raring stable looks tor i.iibellino to be a stayer. kdolpa Sprcckels is a man who has not been frightened by legislation hostile to racing either here 111 in bis aative state of California. Instead of cur tatting his stud aa so many other breeders have done. he is expanding. He has established the stallions Voorhees and Dr. I.eggo at Napa Stock Kami in addition to Solitaire II. Berry does not expect to take anv of the horses he has at Sheepslicad back Uiome. He will have a hig bum h of Napa Kami yearlings to break when he gets back to the coast. Mr. Kerry predicts that there will be plenty of racing in California next winter.
