NEW TRAINER FOR WHITNEY STABLE. New York. May 28.— It is understood that H. P. Whitneys horses here will he trained in future by Thomas Welsh instead of by W. II. Karrick. who has his hands full with the Oneck Stables string. Trainer Welsh has only a few horses in the Newcastle Stable this year and has plenty of time to devote to Mr. Whitneys Tacers. He is one of the best handlers of thoroughbreds in America and if the material in hand amounts to anything he will soon get beneficial results.
