FLORIDA TO HAVE 150 DAYS RACING. A Second Track to Be Built at Jacksonville and Tampa Plant to Be Remodeled. Ciucinntai. O.. June ft. — W. II. Fizer and J. 1". Strode will depart tomorrow for Jacksonville. Fla.. whither they go at the raajnaat of Frank Clarkson. a prominent hotel man of that city, to consult in regard to perfecting plans for building a now rae-trick In Sonlli Jacksonville, across the St. John Hiver from .faeksouville. and readily accessible to the business district of the city. Plan-for the track have been drawn, and disclosure of the undertaking only awaited the adjournment of the Florida legislature. It is proposed to build the track in an up to-date fashion with modern appoint nients. at a cost of 50,000. An agreement has bein reached with "Curly" Brown, manager of the track already located in Jacksonville, according to Fizer. to split dates and avoid all friction. It is intended to race about 160 days iu Florida the coming winter. The same parties who are promoting tlie now track have secured a leapt, on the Tarn pa. Fla.. track, and thev will remodel it for racing purposes in season for i meeting there to precede thOBC at Jacksonville. The Tampa plant is only a li.ilf-inile track at present, but it will be converted into a three -quarters of a mile coarse, which will exhaust the full capacity of available ground.
