ANOTHER GOOD STAKE WINNING£SON OFf VOTER + + It was not until well along In the season that Hilarious attracted any considerable attention among the two vai-olds of last year, but at prcsint le-is an unbeaten three-year-old and only Fltz Herbert stands between him and the title of champion three-year-olil colt of the year. His principal aacceaa last year was in winning the Doited States Hotel Slakes at Saratoga August 1. and after that he was re-pea ledlv beaten, but always ran respectably. He improved grandly in his winter retirement and it is evident that Voter has another good son in view to take the place of Ballot In public regard. His first start this year was in the Withers Stakes at Belmont Iark May 22, in which he easily de feated Joe Madden and Fayette. His next start was for the Carlton Stakes at tiravesenil June 12. In this, while he could have won off by himself, he was nearly beaten by Joe Madden because But-well stupidly eased him up when too far away from the winning line. The story of his easy suciess in the Tidal Stakes is told elsewhere in" this issue His performances to date and his pedigree are as I ol lowing: XSSf- A".° sts- lst- 2d- •*■ tnp.
