BELMONT STEEPLECHASES FILL WELL. New York. September 3. The autumn steeplechases to be decided at ltelmont Park have filled excf Tding-lv well. The Harbor Hill, a ,000 event, at two miles, for three-vcar-olds exclusively, has attracted twenty-two nominations, the Itrook Cup eighteen, nnd the Champion fourteen. This is with Canada yet to be heard from. In other years these Belmont iark chases have nltracted a greater number of entries, hut this year nearly every horse nominated may be expected to " Pagan Bey. ICufns. Grandpa, Rampart. Steve Lane Mid St. Nick, which are pointing for the Great Autumn, are Champion possibilities, as are Sir Wooster. Itallacalla, Waterbury. Vaquero and Prince Hamilton. Thistledale. the mainstay of the stable of James W. Colt for three years, will not go in this years Ctrimpion. The gigantic son of Knight of the Thistle is touched in the wind, and three miles and a half is considered too much of a journey for a whistler. Vaquero and Prince Hamilton, the two burses Mr. Colt will have to depend upon, are still in the hunters class, but they are good ones.
